Great news for those who would like to take a sneak peek at what is coming in future updates. JPKO has released the "Season 4" update, which includes the Under the Castle event and many other updates.

The official site recommends you to download the complete installer rather than use the launcher to update the game. You can also download patch 1925 from our Patches page, which may be faster for users outside Japan.

Changes introduced by this update:
- Completely redesigned UI. You will hardly recognize the whole game.
- A permanent "bloom" effect that makes graphics a bit cooler.

Under the Castle event: (see map)
- Occurs once every day
- Requires a lot of coordination between players. Opposing nations need to cooperate.
- Level 35 required for entry, no entry limit (system suggests 100-200 players)
- Enter via the NPC "[Dusk Knight Squad] Ireya" in El Morad/Luferson Castle
- The goal is to kill the Boss Monsters
- Players of opposing nations can't talk, attack, or form a party
- When you die there's no EXP penalty. Instead, the durability of all your equipment is reduced to zero. There is a new item called Life Crystal (see below) that can be used to cancel out this penalty similarly to the Resurrection Scroll.

And NO, the level cap will not be increased. It will stay at 83.

- If you die and don't choose to respawn, you will be respawned automatically after 15 seconds
- Monsters are immune to Drain and Sleep
- Skills and items that teleport players (Blink, Summon Friend, Descent etc.) don't work
- Transformation items don't work. If you enter in a transformed state, it is suspended until you exit Under the Castle.
- Priest's Resurrection skills don't work, and also resurrection scrolls don't work since there's no EXP loss involved
- There are special skills usable by government officials (king and the 5 appointed chiefs) that help players around them. Each of the posts has a uinque skill associated with it:
-- King: prevents physical damage in an area for 20 seconds
-- Chief Commander: sets up a land mine that stuns on explosion
-- Chief of Staff: heal in a straight line(?)
-- Grand Chamberlain: prevents magic damage in an area for 20 seconds
-- Apostle: increase physical damage by 50% for 20 seconds (target?)
-- Shinto priest: increase magic damage by 50% for 20 seconds (target?)
(Note that the names of these positions haven't been translated to English yet so I used ad-hoc names)
- There are various NPC's in the area that give you daily quests to complete. These quests are divided into brackets of level 51~60, 61~70, 71~80 and 81~. The only exception is "King of Kings" which is available in all brackets. The rewards for these quests is EXP and sometimes materials for the new crafting recipes.
- The quest NPC's are on the left hand side of the starting area, the potion, sundries and exit NPC are on the right hand side
- The music has been composed by Itou Kenji. He is a popular music composer in Japan.

Item disassembly system:
- The NPC can be found in the upper left corner of Moradon (in the lower level), his name is "[Item Disassembly] Narki"
- Only works on weapons and armor
- The result depends on the item grade and may be treasure chests, gems, potions, Bifrost fragments and materials for producing other items (old and new) (see this list)
- It has a price per item (middle class: 1000, high class: 10000, unique: 100000)
- May also result in jewel fragments, of which 5 can be exchanged for the corresponding jewel, which is a consumable item (giving EXP, AC or NP). The combination is done in the manufacturing interface (Heppa's Pupil) and it has a 100% success rate.
- Does NOT work on: low-class upgrade items, accessories, consumable items, event unique items, untradable and unrepairable items. It does work with the 3rd tier armors you can buy from the armor NPC.

Reverse sealing:
- Basically this is the same thing that affects Krowaz items and old accessories in USKO. It will be extended to some new items introduced in the expansion. There will also be a "Seal Item" from the PUS (sold as a voucher) that can be used to restore the reverse seal, allowing the item to be traded again. Each item might require several Seal Items to make it tradeable again.

Item manufacturing:
- Lots and lots of new recipes are available for manufacturing.
- Under the Castle weapons: there are 2 different kinds of them. The first is the normal Under the Castle weapons which can be used at level 75. The second are "selfname" weapons and can be used at level 80. The level 80 versions are more powerful than the level 75 ones.
-- There are the following Under the Castle weapons:
-- Dagger: Khanjar
-- Jamadhar: Moonlight (note that "jamadhar" is a new item category and it looks like a dagger)
-- Long Spear: Vogue(?)
-- Bow: Azagai
-- Staff: Codex Gigas
-- Priest mace: Ruah(?)
-- Shield (for priests only): Adaga Shield
- Heppa Weapons and Armor: may be manufactured from materials obtained by disassembling items. They look like High Class weapons and armor.
- Meran Armor: these require items from item disassembly, as well as Fantastic XXX Frames and one item that is currently unknown origin (maybe Under the Castle).
- Booties: these are items that can be exchanged for random rewards, like chests and gems. You combine them from Under the Castle drops. The most valuable type of Booty can drop the original Set items (Dragon, Mithril, Ron and Trial) but with a very low rate.
- Buff gems: these give you a temporary buff for EXP, HP, AC or NP. When you disassemble items, you sometimes get a fragment of a buff gem. Combine 5 of these fragments into a full buff gem with 100% success rate.
- Old accessories with higher success rate: apparently these will need a different PUS item (not the Shadow Piece).

Jamadhars:
- As mentioned before, the Moonlight is a jamadhar, which is a weapon category on its own. Jamadhars work exactly the same way as daggers, except that dagger defence won't work against them. There is special "jamadhar defense" to reduce the damage from jamadhars. There are now also "plain" jamadhars in the game, and they are very conspicuous in the weapon NPC because of the yellow border. They are called: Jamadhar, Half-moon Jamadhar, Fang of Rabuma, Reaper's Jamadhar, Windstorm, Abyss Jamadhar, Weapon Breaker, Blood Finger, True Silver, Exceptional True Silver.

New items:
- There are also tons of new accessories. Their origin is unknown.
- Bombs that can be purchased from Sundries to be used in Under the Castle. Each bomb has a level range in which it can be used.

Skills:
- The names of skill groups will be the same for El Morad and Karus. This means that Warriors' 3rd skill group is called "Passion", and Priests' skill groups are "Aura", "Heal" and "Charm".
- The Passion skill group is changed around a bit

Clan changes:
- New clan UI with the ability to add notes to members
- Maximum member count is 50
- The member list shows the last time of login (for people not logged in since this update, it will say something like 15 thousand days ago)

Other changes:
- Mining and fishing will require level 35
- Some unique items can be upgraded with low-class upgrade scrolls
- Certain items will trigger an in-game announcement when they are picked up
